My yoga journey started 24 years ago when I studied for a BA (Hons) degree in dance at Bretton Hall College, near Leeds. After graduating I worked as a community dance artist and continued my personal practice of yoga alongside my contemporary dance career. I have always had the pleasure of being involved in teaching, originally in dance then as a primary and special school teacher. During this time my personal interest and practice of yoga has continued and positively influenced my life.
In 2015 I felt compelled to take my practice further and I began my training with Carolyn Clarke and Gillian Gee of the British Wheel of Yoga. In 2018 I proudly graduated with my 500hrs Level 4 Diploma in teaching yoga.
I feel honoured and excited to share my passion for yoga with others.
I love to explore and play with movement and my classes feature sustainable and mindful movements based in the Hatha tradition.
Strength, flexibility and mobility through a practice where movement becomes the meditation is a theme of my teaching.
A focus on breathing and pranayama exercises, relaxation and aspects of yoga philosophy are also woven into my classes.
