Things to do in pregnancy and when you have had your baby in lock down

“Life is always a rich and steady time when you are waiting for something to happen or hatch” E.B White. For those of you pregnant or with small people at home, these times may seem scary, isolating and unreal. This time in your life is probably not how you were expecting it to be!

At the Reach, I have tried to keep as much normality in our mum’s to be and post natal mum’s schedule as possible, just to help keep a sense of perspective, give you a community to connect to and keep you active whilst in lock down.

Whilst our pregnancy classes are running as usual (don’t forget you can try a class for just £5), our post natal course and next infant massage course start in early June.  If you are looking for ways to connect to your community and re-connect to yourself both bodily and spiritually, these are great classes to attend!

Post natal yoga for newly post natal mum’s starts June 3rd at 13:15

Mum’s getting back to yoga for mum’s a bit more post natal starts the same day at 12:00

Infant massage starts June 9th at 12:15

In the interim, I have come up with a few ideas to keep you and your babies occupied in lockdown!

Baby Scent –ory!
Find some fresh herbs such as mint/rosemary, parsley and basil and introduce your baby to their lovely scent and maybe feel!

Splish, splash
Find a bowl of water and get yours and your babies hands and feet wet.  You just need a tiny bit of water for splashing about and looking at the waters movement.  Cool and fun!

Baby disco
Get your groove on with your favourite tunes. Dance with your baby or to your baby – have a ball, dance your socks off, raise the roof and your spirits!

Go for a nature walk
Take your baby out and go looking at nature, show your baby all you can see and gather bits and bobs like cones and feathers for a home sensory basket.

Sensory basket
Use your nature finds and textured items from home like scarves, sponges and wooden spoons to create your own sensory box to help your baby discover their hands, shapes and all things groovy in the world!

Find an animal book
Read to your baby and introduce your baby to your best animal sounds and impressions. Guaranteed to bring giggles.

Get rest and relax
Find time to chill with your baby and if they snooze, you snooze too. Everything else can wait!

Above all, enjoy your time together!
